The New way into Amateur Radio as a licensed operator is by taking a Foundation training course.

The course runs over five consecutive Saturday mornings, or a number of weekday evenings if that is more convenient.

It is also perfectly in order for you to study the "Foundation Now" examination course at home, share any questions or concerns with the club instructors and undertake the practical sessions at the club - followed, of course, by the final exam.

The course consists of a number of fundamental theories and techniques, sufficient to ensure that you have an appreciation for the hobby.  There is NO heavy theory!

There are a number of practical aspects such as how to tune an antenna, you will actually have several contacts on the short wave bands with real radio amateurs and a very brief introduction to the exciting world of Morse code.
